What are the limitations of buying Duty Free Liquids, Aerosols and Gels?

      Answer :

As enforced by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) effectively as of June 1, 2007, the security measures restrict the amount of Liquids, Aerosols and Gels (LAGs) that passengers may take on board in their hand luggages on international flights to protect against the threat of liquid explosives. Limited quantities of liquids, aerosols, gels or similar substances may be taken on board the aircraft in your hand-carry luggage.

Which items are not required to be carried in transparent re-sealable plastic bags?

      Answer :

To ensure the health and welfare of certain air travellers, in the absence of suspicious activity or item, exceptions to the restrictions are applied to the following liquids, gels and aerosols that are permitted on board in reasonable quantities for the duration of your journey (all exceptions must be presented for screening at the security screening point).

Medications e.g., insulin, angina spray, cough syrup, medication for diabetics, children's medicines, etc.

Special dietary requirements without which the passenger's health is threatened

    • Q :

How to make your trip more enjoyable with hassle-free screening experience?

      Answer :

If you plan to travel with your Liquids, Aerosols or Gels in your hand-carry baggage, you should follow these recommendations:

Do not carry more than you really need in your hand-carry baggage.
To get through security smoothly is to de-clutter your hand-carry baggage. Limit quantities to what is needed for the duration of the flight.

Pack Liquids, Aerosols or Gels in your checked-in baggage.
When possible, keep packing liquid in checked baggage. You will get through security faster.

      Declare larger liquids.
Prescription medications, baby formula and milk (when travelling with infant or toddler) are allowed in reasonable quantities exceeding
100ml-content and are not required to be in a transparent plastic bag. Declare these items for inspection at the security screening point.

      Come early and be patient.
Heavy travel volumes and an enhanced security process may mean longer lines at security checkpoints.

If in any doubt, put your LAGs items in checked baggage.
