Introducing you to Leicester City Football Club's new 'From Leaves to Lively' Thai Dye Collection, a part of King Power Thai Power's CSR project. This time King Power shares the pride of traditional knowledge and local wisdom from inhabitants of Baan Kiriwong, Nakhon Si Thammarat province, Thailand. The village previously suffered extensive damage from natural disaster, the persistence and dedication of the local people that wish to see their village come alive with an abundance of nature once again are dwell in this collection.
Bearing “Beauty in Imperfection” concept in mind, the villager from Baan Kiriwong has created unique Thai dye technique by combining their commonplace materials such as leaves, bark, heartwood and local indigenous wisdom to give a life to new creation which is a high-quality product that generates a sustainable income for the community.
Thai dye product from Baan Kiriwong provides soft, pastel tones colors, variety of shades include:
• light brown color, a unique tie dye coo comes from sato pods famous in the southern region of Thailand.
• Blue-grey from indigo leaves
• Yellow from Indian almond leaves
• Pinkish-orange from mangosteen leaves
*Coloring and pattern may vary slightly on each item due to the traditional tie-dye process.
Natural dye care instruction:
-Wash all garments inside out in a fine-mesh net. Please make sure detergent or soap does not directly contact the dyed material. Dissolve in water first.
- Do not use bleach, please check before use.
- Products may change colour when exposed to direct sunlight. If drying outside, place in a shaded area.
- Colour of natural dye product may transfer the colour onto lighter coloured materials. Wash separately.
