The feature of the rice isThai Sanpathong sticky rice which planted in northern part of Thailand, especially in Sanpathong District Chiangmai Province.And it can be planted in other regions of Thailand as well. Black Sticky Rice is the sticky rice and sensible to photoperiod, planted in in-season rice field, xylophytic and durable to green paddy leaf hopper. The specific difference between the black sticky rice and the normal rice is an appearance of purple of the stem such as leaf sheath, blade, pedel, seed coar and aril. As the variety of its color depends on the breed, obviously the black sticky rice will specific purple in the aril.
